ManUp Iowa Mentoring Program
Performance Measures/Outcomes (United Way)
(Time frames: FY2015 – FY2017)

 

Since 2015, ManUp Iowa has been a United Way funded partner and has had access to new data systems made available through the support of United Way of Central Iowa and the Des Moines Public Schools. This report includes two fiscal years of data and is specific to ManUp Iowa Performance Measure outcomes that were tracked and assessed by UWCI and the DMPS. Note: Fiscal Year 2017 data has been collected and assessed and will be up on our website by the end of January 2018.

Target Measure (Behavioral): FY 2015/17
• Percentage of DMPS students who enrolled in the ManUp Iowa Mentoring Program with a behavior referral at school, and who did not increase behavior referrals by 50%
Note: On 10/1/16, the target measure spanning FY 2015/16 was replaced with the following:
• Number of DMPS students who enrolled in the ManUp Iowa Mentoring Program with a behavior referral at school, and decreased behavior referrals
• Number of DMPS students who enrolled in the ManUp Iowa Mentoring Program with a behavioral referral at school and maintained the same number of referrals
Performance Measures:
1) Academic: Number of students not failing any academic courses
2) Academic: Percentage of students who are absent 18 days or more per semester

Performance Measure Outcomes Fiscal Year 2017

• Total number of youth served during Fiscal Year 2017 = 155 (138 DMPS) (17 other)

Target Measure:
• Number of DMPS students who did not increase or maintained behavior referrals = 98
• Percent of DMPS students who did not increase or maintained = 71%

Performance Measure:
• Number of students in DMPS with school data for FY2017 = 138
• Number of students who are absent 18 days or more per semester = 36
• Number of students not failing any academic course per semester = 70
• Percent of students who are absent 18 days or more per semester = 74%
• Percent of students not failing academic courses per semester
= 51%
• Number of students who enrolled into the program with a referral = N/A
• Average length of mentee/mentor match in days = 315 days

Performance Measure Outcomes Fiscal Year 2016

Total number of youth served during Fiscal Year 2016: 134
• FHY1 = 55
• FHY2 = 79

Target Measure:
• Number of DMPS students who did not increase referrals by 50% = 71
• Percent of DMPS students who did not increase referrals by 50% = 92.2%

Performance Measure:
• Number of students in DMPS with school data for FY2016 = 77
• Number of students who are absent 18 days or more per semester = 5
• Number of students not failing any academic course per semester = 71
• Percent of students who are absent 18 days or more per semester = 6.5%
• Percent of students not failing academic courses per semester
= 92.2%
• Number of students who enrolled into the program with a referral = N/A
• Average length of mentee/mentor match in days = 302 days

Updated Target Measure: (10/1/16):
Number of DMPS students who enrolled in ManUp with a behavior referral at school, and who either decreased or maintained behavior referrals after enrolling in ManUp
= 70 out of 77 DMPS youth

Total number of youth served during Fiscal Year 2015: 114
• FHY1 = 49
• FHY2 = 65

Target Measure:
• Number of DMPS students who did not increase referrals by 50% = 37
• Percent of DMPS students who did not increase referrals by 50% = 64.9%

Performance Measure:
• Number of students in DMPS with school data for FY 2015 = 57
• Number of students who are absent 18 days or more per semester = 12
• Number of students not failing any academic course per semester = 37
• Percent of students who are absent 18 days or more per semester = 21.1%
• Percent of students not failing academic courses per semester
= 64.9%
• Number of students who enrolled into the program with a referral = 57
• Average length of mentee/mentor match in days = 223 days
